lyrics
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
I come from Planet Africa
I heard your distress from Ka
Mayday I can’t move I can’t see
Mayday I can’t open the hood of my spaceship platter
My spaceship platter
This ain't the time for you to pick a fight with me
I came to save you all from this here fantasy
Oh your sign, I heard your mayday cry
Oh chil', this here too big for you
Don’t come for me I own this galaxy
Not yours, don’t be another tragedy
Not yours, don’t be another tragedy
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
Rekere ke rekere
Rekere ke rekere
Rekere ke rekere
Rekere ke rekere
Rekere
Insist on calling me a backward sapien
My song and dance can rescue you from this here ruin
Oh, your mind, you need to clean your mind
Oh chil', I am too big for you
Don’t come for me, I own this galaxy
Not yours don’t be another tragedy
Not yours don’t be another tragedy
Not yours don’t be another tragedy
Not yours don’t be another tragedy
I came, I saw
I came, I saw
I came, I saw
I left your ass behind
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
I came, I saw, I left your ass behind
I came, I saw, I left your ass

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
I was brought here after listening to a live performance of Makaya's on you tube. I instantly loved the song Holy Lands so much that I had to see if the album version was the same rendition as the live one. Then I listened to the whole album! Universal Beings is a just a groove... It's a mix of traditional and something new, very nice. pandr1900
